Reviews
We came here especially for the New Years brunch and were very disappointed. As vegetarians there was hardly no food, the live music was a nice touch however it was only ok. The kids were excited about the idea of a pool, but not being heated and having no changing areas near the main pool made it unusable. The service was also ok, startimg at the door it was just assumed you knew where to go, the Oberoi for example walked us right through and had someone always around to support. The 2 stars are for the amazing scenery at the location, truly well designed and a real Palace feel. I would not recommend this place if you're a vegetarian or if you're looking for the sort of pampered taken care of type of holiday.
Beautifully kept grounds with expansive waters, well kept gardens.
Check in was in a separate building,
Nice interior.
In room 108, deluxe room with water front and own jacuzzi. Jacuzzi is really a little circular tube with cold water rather than hot.
Antechamber with coffee machine, office and fridges.
Nice size room with sofa in front of bed then a passage way, half way in to the commode and all the way to large bathroom with big shower area, nice bath tube and airy bathroom. The passage itself is narrow and and issue when doors of clothes cabinet open.
Terrace- nice bit morning sun, large bamboo tree with lots of sparrows nesting there during that evening- they fly back and make a racket in the evening around sun down.
Breakfast good- in doors or outdoors. 4 courses practicallly with fruits plate followed but bread basket and pastries, cheese should have come with this rather than at the end. Next omelette and egg Benedict and finally French toast. Quality overall good. Ripe fruits, good eggs, nice French toast. Cappuccino was good. fresh orange juice. Service was slow and long pause after bread basket/ pastries and cooked food arriving. Issue with sparrows as they pick off food when left unattended including fresh food arriving from kitchen on a silver tray and waiters move away to serve them part by part.
Dinner was good- see different review for restaurant.
Spa- disappointing that you can only use the hammam if you have Hammam treatment and even if you have a massage not for hotel guest. That should really change.
Pool area, is next to breakfast/ lunch dining area with lounge beds. Lots of people with day passes who use it too so rather bustling. Nice and sun all day but the music could be less with base, and softer and a few more choice/variety than the three CD’s that they have. It really ruined the ambience when trying to relax at the pool.
Gym- good, functional, could do with more light in the day.
House keeping removed coffee and tea cups/ glasses to clean and forget to return and require a call to house keeping.
And forget to top up coffee capsules, tea bags And bottles of water for the coffee machine. daily bottles of water albeit present on check in day and required some prompting.
Negative:
far from town centre and other food.
Food Options limited
No shuttle service
200 maD for taxi before 7pm and 300 mad after 7pm
Limited music selection.
Positives:
Quiet,Calming - truly a wonderful place to destress.
Breakfast is good/Ala carte rather than buffet.
Complimentary drinks by the pool/ lounge area.
Functional Gym
WOW, just wow! This place is absolutely stunning and perfect for a wedding. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, everything looked & felt luxurious. I was blown away and would go back in a heartbeat!
A very welcoming environment. Very nice staff and good service. The rooms are beautiful.
I had an incredible stay at this hotel! The staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful, the rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the view from my room was breathtaking. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional experience during their stay.
Most staff were friendly except the guys behind the bar inside .. they were side hustling sold be a can of coke for €7 which i know it was not that expensive
May three day stay at Palais Namaskar was extraordinary. I arrived at twilight. From the moment I walked among the candle lit paths above the water, it felt other worldly.
The rooms are extraordinarily well appointed, and your room’s private pool is a must have experience outside under the stars.
Looks 5 Star, operates as 3 Star.
Friendlyness,
Reastarunt, Groundskeeping and Housekeeping staff friendly, always saying hello and remembering us. Some Guest Services staff were great and helpful, surprisingly the Guest Service manager was very volatile which really let the hotel down.
Cleanliness,
The grounds are very well kept and we actually loved the look of the place.
Room Housekeeping was very poor. Glassware not changed Daily, fresh fruit not replenished. We were without coffee cups one morning. And had loads of dirty plates left in our room from room service.
I feel we never had a properly cleaned and restocked room.
Facilities,
The grounds themselves are beautiful unfortunately you can not walk round all the grounds, we were told because we were not VIP that we couldn’t walk round all the grounds. Pool villas have their own pool bonus!
Our room had broken windows, power sockets that didn’t work And adjoining doors to the next room with no soundproofing.
For anyone wanting a nice 2 night stay it’s probably great, for any longer I’d recommend spend your money on a proper 5 Star hotel.
